Athens-Clarke County Police Seek Help Identify Bank Robbery Suspect – WSB-TV Channel 2



ATHENS, Ga. – Athens-Clarke County Police are hoping someone can help them identify a man they say robbed a bank on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said just before 5 p.m. Wednesday that they responded to Wells Fargo Bank on the 1000 block of Gaines School Road after the theft.

Investigators said cashiers told them a white man entered the bank and handed over a note demanding that the money be put in a bag. They said that after receiving an unknown amount of money, the man fled.

Despite a search by K9 agents and drone crews, police said they could not find the man. They provided a description of the suspect.

They said he was a thin, white man, about 5-7 to 6-0, weighing between 130 and 160 lbs. He was last seen wearing a blue hoodie, tapered khaki pants, a brown beanie, black sunglasses, a gray mask and black latex gloves.
