Indian Foreign Minister meets with Serbian Foreign Minister, talks, India News News


Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar had a busy day on Sunday. After meeting with his Saudi counterpart Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud on regional and bilateral issues, the minister also welcomed Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selaković.

Jaishankar discussed ways to advance the strong and traditional friendship between the two countries.

The two leaders also reaffirmed the strong political ties and independent position in world politics. And agreed to advance the long-standing cooperation, especially on the economic front, between the two nations.

In a tweet, Jaishankar announced: “Warm and fruitful discussions with Serbian FM Nikola Selaković. Reaffirmed our strong political ties and our independent position in world politics. I have agreed to advance our long-standing cooperation, especially economically.

During the meeting with the Saudi Foreign Minister, Jaishankar discussed various developments in Afghanistan, the Gulf and the Indo-Pacific. The two leaders also discussed ways to increase cooperation in the political, security and socio-cultural pillars of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The Saudi minister arrived in India on Saturday evening for a three-day visit.

On Twitter, Jaishankar said earlier: “Delighted to welcome Saudi Arabian FM HH Prince @Faisalbinfarhan for his very first visit to India.”

The minister also tweeted: “A cordial and productive meeting with Saudi Arabian FM HH @Faisalbinfarhan. We discussed our cooperation in the political, security and socio-cultural pillars of our strategic partnership. Very useful exchange of views on Afghanistan, the Gulf and the Indo-Pacific.

The Saudi Foreign Minister is due to visit Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.
