Social media user warns future owners after KVG, Jah Prayzah acquires luxury homes in Borrowdale

A social media user identified only as Dr Controlla Gabi recently took to Twitter to raise a red flag over the deals that saw KVG media personality, real name Kudzai Violet Gwara and multi-award winning musician Jah Prayzah become new owners in the leafy suburb of Borrowdale.

Captioning photos of the chic apartment, Dr Controlla Gabi congratulated KVG on becoming a new owner before questioning the type of rental contracts offered by the Pokugara Properties company owned by Kenneth Raydon Sharpe.

Dr Controllah Gabi believes Pokugara Properties could sell its posh Pokugara Estate homes using an outdated concept called the “leasehold” arrangement.

The “Condition of the lease” means that when one buys a property, the ownership of the land remains in the hands of the seller and attracts monthly rents.

Dr Controllah Gabi says Pokugara Estate used the same leasing scheme that was being phased out in the UK. He called the controversial lease agreement an “internal debt trap”.

He, however, called on the government to protect the rights of landowners and developers to help people own land.
