Springs Municipal Advisory Council has an opening – Sonoma Sun

District 1 Supervisor Susan Gorin invites community members to apply for positions on local decision-making bodies, including the Springs Municipal Advisory Council. Nominations and a list of all boards, commissions and committees that the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors appoints members to are available online at: https://sonomacounty.ca.gov/Board-of-Supervisors/ Boards-Commissions-Committees and- Task-Forces /.

“Local government leaders want to hear your thoughts and ideas on how to make improvements to various issues in our community,” said Supervisor Susan Gorin, who calls for applications for the following committees and councils:

Springs Municipal Advisory Council (Springs MAC): A Vacancy. The Springs MAC will represent the best interests of the whole community while acting as a bridge for communication between the county and local residents and businesses on topics for the Springs area. Ideal candidates will create a representative composition of the Spring MAC community.

Members must reside or work in the limits of the Municipal Advisory Council and be 18 years of age or older. There’s no conditions of ownership or citizenship. Aapplicants may be considered for future vacancies as they arise.

Meeting schedule: the third Wednesday of each month at 6.30 p.m.

Mental Health Council (MHC): A vacancy. The Mental Health Council acts as the community focal point for mental health issues by reviewing and assessing the community’s mental health needs, services, facilities and special issues. He advises the Board of Supervisors and the Director of Behavioral Health on all aspects of local mental health programs. The MHB usually meets on the third Tuesday of every month EXCEPT August and December, when it usually takes summer and vacation vacations. In addition, the MHB meets quarterly in peripheral geographic areas, which may change from year to year.

Meeting schedule: the third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m.
